There is a painting in my home, “The Shaman Sorceress”. A mute girl and her father left it here. Like all pictures, it’s worth a thousand words. Its story begins with a shaman named Mohwa, who lived with her mute daughter, Nang-Yi, practicing shamanism her entire life. One day, Wook-Yi, her son, whom she hasn’t seen in years because he studied abroad, returns home a christian convert. This sparks conflict between Wook-Yi and Mohwa, leading to tragedy for the entire family.
